Holly's Heroes

Holly's Heroes : Hospital passMaterialDela
  1. Sometimes you're thrown
    a pass you don't expect.

  2. A hard ball. A hospital pass.

  3. Hey guys, what's this about?

  4. Tell Holly about the famous
    Woolich High School Fête.

  5. -No rides.
    -No sideshows.

  6. -No games.
    -No fun.

  7. That's the famous Fête. Followed by
the famous Woolich high school dance.

  8. -There's a dance?
    -Ralphie...

  9. -Parents are invited.
    -Mrs. Rocacceli's DJ:ing.

  10. Oh yes. Ukrainian folk music.

  11. -Pretty good to dance to, isn't it?
-You can mash someone else's toes.

  12. Holly. Are you going to the dance?

  13. -Are you?
    -I guess. Everyone else goes.

  14. -They were just saying that...
    -They still go. - Right?

  15. Yes. It's Woolich.
    What else would anyone do?

  16. So. About the dance.
    Will you go with me?

  17. -Did he do it? Did he ask you out?
    -Yes.

  18. -Finally! It had to happen.
    -I can't go.

  19. -Why not? He likes you, you like him.
    -I sprained my ankle.

  20. -Your ankle? When?
    -Just now at training.

  21. Holly. It's me. Why don't you
want to go to the dance with Nick?

  22. -I can't dance.
    -You can't dance?

  23. -No, I can't dance.
    -Really?

  24. So there's something the great
    Holly McKenzie can't do.

  25. -Come on, Mum. Keep up!
    -You said 2K.

  26. -I said three.
    -What's wrong with you today?

  27. -You don't work me this hard.
    -There's a school dance.

  28. -No. You can't go. No way.
    -Everyone's going.

  29. -Have you tried the ankle excuse?
    -Tried it.

  30. We'll have to
    think of something else.

  31. -Hey, I know this song.
    -What?

  32. "Small town girl, won't you..."
    Great song to dance to.

  33. Hey, Mum,
we've still got half a k to go.

  34. Hey! Lenny Cropper.

  35. I picked this up at a garage sale.
Best five bucks I ever spent.

  36. -Five bucks you borrowed off me.
-Best five bucks I ever borrowed.

  37. -Lenny's original single.
    -It's more than that.

  38. It's proof you can come
from Woolich and make it big.

  39. -He came from Woolich?
    -Born and bred.

  40. -Small town girl...
    -You a Lenny Cropper fan?

  41. I don't mind the old stuff.
    It's kind of... romantic.

  42. I wonder if
    he'll ever make a comeback.

  43. Everything comes back. When he
does, this will be worth millions.

  44. It's not worth five bucks.

  45. Lenny was number five on the charts
for two whole weeks in 1980.

  46. He invented the purple pants-

  47. -the cummerbund, the puffy shirt.
    A leader, rebel and legend.

  48. -Where is he now?
    -Who cares?

  49. -Track him down to sign your record.
    -Excellent, Mrs. M.

  50. With an autograph,
this will be worth twice as much.

  51. Ask him to make his comeback
    at the Woolich dance.

  52. Scubi, you may be short,
    but you're not entirely stupid.

  53. -Thanks.
    -That'd pep up the dance.

  54. And make a bucket load for us!

  55. Okay. Show me.
I'm sure it can't be that...

  56. ...bad.

  57. -It's bad, isn't it?
    -Well, it's...

  58. -Yeah.
    -Well, how bad?

  59. -Show me again.
    -Okay.

  60. -Well?
    -Really.

  61. "Embarrassingly you can't go to the
school dance or you'll die" bad.

  62. But let's look at the positive.
    It's also hilarious.

  63. -Having fun?
    -Yeah.

  64. Good. 'Cause
    dancing lessons start now.

  65. I can't dance. You can. Teach me!

  66. Okay. We'll let's start
    with your arms. You're stiff.

  67. No, don't move your arms.
    How about your feet?

  68. Okay, don't move your feet.

  69. Merchandise megabucks. We've hit
    the mother lode, my friends.

  70. -We have to find him first.
    -How hard can it be?

  71. Mr. Cropper? Mr. Lenny Cropper?

  72. Oh. You're not related to
    Lenny Cropper, are you? Thanks.

  73. Thirty-four L Croppers listed.
    But no Lenny.

  74. Cheer up. We may not have Lenny but
    I found another famous Woolichian.

  75. I've just talked her into appearing.

  76. -Ruth Milner.
    -Ruth Milner.

  77. -Yes! Who is she, again?
    -A famous artist. From Woolich!

  78. An artist? Are you sure she doesn't
sing? We might need a Plan B.

  79. Ta-da! All thanks to Nick. You like?

  80. -Nice poster, but Lenny's dead.
    -He's not.

  81. -If he's alive, where is he?
    -You can't find him?

  82. They printed the posters and you
    ordered Lenny Cropper t-shirts.

  83. Keep dialling!

  84. Hi, Nick. So, you owe me ten bucks.

  85. I got tickets to the dance. To Lenny
Cropper. One for me and one for you.

  86. -You didn't want to go.
    -I changed my mind.

  87. -How come?
    -It's a girl thing.

  88. -Cool. The dance.
    -Yeah. The dance.

  89. Mum has an international artist
for the Fête. She's really famous.

  90. You could get tips off her.
    Ruth Milner.

  91. I know Ruth Milner.
    I've met Ruth Milner.

  92. I've known her for 15 years.
    She lives in Spain.

  93. She jets back to Australia
to say how grand life is.

  94. She's my mother.

  95. Listen up. Twenty five dollars
    for this limited edition t-shirt.

  96. Pick one up at the dance.
    There's very few of them.

  97. Twenty five dollars times
    two hundred and fifty is...

  98. -Megabucks.
    -You had the t-shirts printed?

  99. If I didn't do it today, they
wouldn't be ready for the dance.

  100. If we can't find him,
    there won't be a dance.

  101. Back row, third from the left.

  102. -It's Lenny.
-We knew he went to Woolich High.

  103. -How does that help?
    -He was a Ram.

  104. How does that help?

  105. My father sends out a yearly
    newsletter to all the ex-Rams.

  106. He's got a database.
    Names, phone numbers, addresses.

  107. -Scratch my back.
    -What?

  108. Please, scratch my back.
    I can't reach.

  109. -Where?
    -There. No, higher.

  110. -Hurry up!
    -Lower. There.

  111. -Password.
-But we don't know the password.

  112. -Yes we do. "Coach".
    -Coach!

  113. -Coach!
    -Yes?

  114. -Yes, Walsh?
-Ah, you know, I read somewhere...

  115. ...that cyclists
shave their legs to go faster.

  116. -Like less wind resistance.
    -That's not exactly true.

  117. I was thinking, I could shave my
legs, move faster around the court.

  118. Because... if you look.
That's a lot of wind resistance.

  119. -Are you feeling all right, Walsh?
    -Me?

  120. You know, I have been feeling
a bit under the weather lately.

  121. -Looks good.
    -Not good enough.

  122. -About the dance.
    -Changed your mind again?

  123. -I thought you might have.
    -Why would I?

  124. My mother
    inviting your mother to Woolich.

  125. My mum can come to Woolich.
She can do whatever she likes.

  126. She's arriving tomorrow. Mum's
picking her up from the airport.

  127. She hasn't been back in a year. When
she does come back, It's for a Fête.

  128. -Maybe she wanted to surprise you.
-Tell Ruth her son says hello.

  129. She's your mother. You should
    be there when she arrives.

  130. Holly, have you ever thought
    about minding your own business?

  131. -Why am I so hot?
    -Moolang's closer to the equator.

  132. Are we at the right place?
It wasn't in the phone book.

  133. Famous people are never in the
phone book. They've got to hide out.

  134. If I wore purple pants,
I would hide out. For life.

  135. -Arthur Crown Real Estate?
    -Who's Arthur Crown?

  136. I'm Arthur Crown. Can I help you?

  137. Uh, no. Sorry,
I think we've got the wrong address.

  138. Lenny? Lenny Cropper?

  139. All right. You've found me.
    What do you want?

  140. We want you. Lenny Cropper!

  141. -Not a chance.
    -Why not? It's all organised.

  142. -We've even got t-shirts.
-Why did you change your name?

  143. -That was a life I'd rather forget.
-It was the purple pants, wasn't it?

  144. Listen, kid. I did purple before
    Prince. Pants, cummerbund, shirt.

  145. -I was number two for five weeks.
    -Number five for two weeks.

  146. Numbers! I was The Lenny Cropper.

  147. I'm Arthur Crown now.
    I sell real estate. Bye-bye.

  148. -But can't you...
    -Out. Out. Out.

  149. Just so you know,
    our dance is a write-off.

  150. -We're going to lose on the t-shirts.
    -We've only got Ruth Milner.

  151. Whoa. Ruthie Milner?

  152. He said yes. Yes, he said yes. All
due to my powers of persuasion.

  153. -He's got a crush on Ruth Milner.
    -We've got Lenny Cropper.

  154. And two hundred and fifty t-shirts.

  155. I'm not too proud to admit there have
been times when I had doubts.

  156. When I've looked in the mirror
    and asked myself:

  157. Johnno? Are you a genius?

  158. But now I know. Now I see.

  159. Big red spots.
What are these big red spots?

  160. -Chicken pox.
    -Chicken pox?

  161. Yep. Joel's got it too.
    And Jacinta and Trish.

  162. -It's a plague.
-You're in bed for three days.

  163. Three days? The dance is tonight!

  164. There's no way
I can do it without Johnno.

  165. -They should be here by now.
-If her flight was on time.

  166. -Last time, she missed her plane.
    -Not this time, Nick.

  167. And before that, she cancelled. Had
to get to Madrid for some art prize.

  168. -She's a wonderful artist.
-Yeah. just not a wonderful mother.

  169. Hello, Nick.

  170. Hello, Ruth. Long time, no see.

  171. How can I sell all these t-shirts?

  172. You are pathetic, Ralph. Of course
you can sell all the t-shirts.

  173. It's okay. Johnno gave me a list.
    Sealed in plastic for quarantine.

  174. He said not to worry.
"If anyone can do it, Ralph can."

  175. -Dearest Ralph... you know...
    -"Ralph."

  176. "I paid big bucks for those shirts.
Do not freak out or we'll go broke."

  177. "And I will hold you responsible."

  178. Immunization!
Why can't I have chicken pox?

  179. I'm glad I didn't get it. I would've
cried if I missed Lenny Cropper.

  180. What?

  181. -Nick?
    -Go away!

  182. -Chicken pox. I'm contagious.
-You had chicken pox at two.

  183. -I've got them again.
    -You can't get it twice.

  184. I suppose you'd better come in.

  185. This is good!
    What are you working on?

  186. You wouldn't like it.

  187. -It's me.
I- told you, you wouldn't like it.

  188. No, it's... It's good.

  189. It's been hard for you, Nick.
    I know that.

  190. -It's been hard for me, too.
-Did you have to fly economy?

  191. Yes, and the food was rubbish.

  192. I've missed you.

  193. Tell me.
Mum, are you ever coming back?

  194. No.

  195. Well, thanks for the maracas.

  196. You've got real talent, Nick.
    Can I have it?

  197. It's a bit rough. I don't really
    think of you like that.

  198. Not all the time.

  199. -So how's life in Spain?
    -I love it.

  200. -And so would you.
    -Yeah?

  201. I'm only here for a week.
    Let's do stuff together.

  202. Let's eat, paint,
    give each other hell.

  203. -Anything you want.
-Can you teach me to dance?

  204. Lenny Cropper t-shirts.

  205. Hot off the press!
    They're selling really fast.

  206. Not a single taker.
    Johnno's going to kill me!

  207. Wow! The purple pants live. Cool.

  208. This is crazy.
Will they even know who I am?

  209. Are you kidding?
    You're Lenny Cropper!

  210. -Lenny Cropper t-shirts!
-Yeah, I'll buy one of those.

  211. Ruth! Ruthie Milner.

  212. Hi, Lenny.

  213. Let me sign one for you. It'll be
worth a lot of money. One day.

  214. -Ladies and gentlemen...
-It's time to go. You're on.

  215. Hometown boy made good. Give it over
    for Mister Lenny Cropper!

  216. -Knock 'em dead.
    -Rock 'n Roll!

  217. -Lenny, hang on.
-I'm ready to rock. I'm gonna roll!

  218. Where's Holly?
I thought you guys had a date?

  219. I can't believe I've got chicken pox.
I could've got away with it.

  220. I can dance now. I've had lessons.
    And I'm pretty good, too.

  221. Hi! It's been a long time
since I played in this gym.

  222. Because I don't get the chance
    that often, after the show-

  223. -you can get your own shirts
    from Ralph out the front.

  224. -All part of the plan.
    -Everybody, join in!

  225. This one's for Ruthie!

  226. Small town girl
    Dance with me

  227. Small town girl
    Can't you see

  228. Small town girl you're the one for me
    Won't you dance

  229. Won't you dance with me

  230. -I got a call from Ralph.
    -What did he say?

  231. What's this about?

  232. I don't know.
All he said was to turn up here.

  233. I could cry. The Lenny Cropper.

  234. The t-shirts.
All two hundred and fifty of them.

  235. -If they don't sell...
-You can't come in. We're contagious!

  236. -I had it in '72.
    -Lenny? Lenny!

  237. Your friend sent me. Ralph.
He had a message for you.

  238. -What's the message?
    -He sold all the t-shirts.

  239. -Heck of a businessman, Ralph.
    -Ralph is da man.

  240. You'll be pleased to hear
that after the donation to the Fête-

  241. -he'll split the profits with me.
    Lenny Cropper's back!

  242. Donation? Split?

  243. How about a song. Any requests?
    Small Town Girl, excellent choice.

  244. What are you waiting for?
    Strut your stuff!

  245. Small town girl dance with me
Small town girl can't you see

  246. Small town girl wanna dance with me
    Won't you dance

  247. Won't you dance with me

  248. I heard there was
    a chicken pox party tonight.

  249. Lenny Cropper's playing.
How did it go with your mom?

  250. Okay. She asked me
to go back to Spain with her.

  251. -Spain? Well, are you going to go?
    -I'm thinking about it.

  252. -Anyway... Gracias, señorita.
    -Thanks for what?

  253. Thanks for
    not minding your own business.

  254. Care to dance? Not that I can dance.

  255. That's okay. I can teach you.

  256. -Wow. Where did you learn this?
    -Mum finally came good.

  257. -Sorry!
    -Peace. Peace.
